Dedicated to preserving the memory of all those who served with the 4th Battalion, The Wiltshire Regiment, 1944-1945.
4th Wiltshires Living History Group is made up of like minded individuals who's mission is to honour and preserve the memory of all those who fought with the 4th Battalion the Wiltshire Regiment during World War Two.
The group attends many of the re-enacting and living history events around the south west of England, and some that are further afield.
Through realistic displays using genuine period uniforms, equipment, weapons and vehicles of the British Infantry soldier during 1944/45, we aim to educate the wider public on this tumultuous period of history and in doing so, honour those who gave so much for the freedoms we all enjoy today.
All members of the group own extensive collections of period uniforms, equipment, weapons and Vehicles. These collections have been built up over many years of collecting and thru military events and displays provide the public with a fascinating and hands on glimpse into the Life and experiences of the British soldier in 1944/45.
All the Equipment, Weapons, Vehicles and Display items shown on this site are owned by members of the group and are available for public events and or Educational purposes.
The group in no way seeks to glorify war. We strive instead to educate people on the experiences of this country’s “Greatest Generation” during the second world war.
In so doing, we focus on honouring their memory and teaching future generations how precious is the Peace and freedom that we enjoy today.
